Puzzles To Remember

PUZZLES TO REMEMBER is a 501(c)3 organization that provides puzzles to nursing homes, veterans facilities, and other facilities that care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients. Dr. Max Wallack founded Puzzles To Remember in 2008, and continues to act as an advisor and mentor. Hailey Richman is the Executive Director of PuzzlesToRemember. Since 2011, Hailey has been distributing puzzles to nursing facilities around the globe. Hailey is also the founder of KidCaregivers.com, where she provides advice for children dealing with dementia in their family members. Hailey has begun an international program called PuzzleTime which involves pairing youth members with people with Alzheimer's for an hour of shared jigsaw puzzle solving. Dr. Max Wallack serves as a mentor to the KidCaregivers program.

If you have puzzles that you would like to donate, please contact us at Puzzles2Remember@gmail.com and we will find a location near you where you can bring your puzzles. We can also provide you with a donation letter so that you can claim the value of your puzzles as a tax deduction.

The CHANGE Act (S.1692/H.R. 3354)

Share

I have gone in the past to Washington DC to speak to my representatives about the bipartisan bill that would provide the tools to accurately detect Alzheimer's in its earliest stages, accelerate progress towards prevention strategies, early diagnosis, disease-modifying treatments, and hopefully a cure! Congress needs to hear from ALL of us. PLEASE send your message to your Senator and Representative and let us continue to push for the passage of this critical bill. Please click the link to email your representatives. I suggest that you write about your story to make it more personal. But you do not have to do that. There is a template to use. CLICK HERE:

Riley's Way Foundation This week’s Kind Leader Spotlight shines on Hailey Richman! Taking her own family’s experience with Alzheimer’s and turning it into an opportunity to support others in similar circumstances, Hailey started Kid Caregivers, an organization that supports and empowers children who are acting as caregivers. She partners with Puzzles To Remember, an organization that provides puzzles to facilitate care for people with Alzheimer's disease. “I want all kids to know that, don't think just because you're a kid that you can't make a difference” We celebrate her for empowering kids and adults alike to act with compassion and creating a #kindertomorrow! Shout Out To Our Special Long Island Ambassador Jake Guttman!

Share

We mentioned Jake before...He is the amazing Ambassador who spearheaded the extremely generous puzzle donation from BETHPAGE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. He did something even more extraordinary. He purchased specialized Springbok Alzheimer's puzzles with his OWN allowance money to be distributed for Global Youth Service Day. You read correctly folks, his own money. He could have used his money to buy cool things like XBOX games or sneakers, etc. Instead, he chose to help diverse people living with Alzheimer's disease. We cannot thank you enough, Jake! We are so lucky and grateful to have you!

Global Youth Service Day Weekend Was a Success!

Share

Starting Friday, April 29th until May 1st we had student volunteers and Girl Scouts distributing over 1000 jigsaw puzzles to memory care facilities and nursing homes. The residents ant the Alzheimer's facilities were overjoyed! In addition, the student volunteers will be participating in PUZZLE TIME an intiative that is a branch from our sister nonprofit KID CAREGIVERS! This would not have been possible without the benefit of HERSHEY CORP for their HEARTWARMING HERO Grant, Youth Service America, Springbok Puzzles, CEACO Puzzles, THREDUP, NERVOUS SYSTEM puzzles, Relish puzzles which shipped from the UK! THANK YOU so much from the bottom of our hearts!

We had volunteers from multiple states and Canada taking part in the event. We also had volunteers from other nonprofits such as Mulitplying Good's Students In Action Konnekt Global Support helping us! Here are some pictures!
