Why Did Grandma Put Her Underwear In The Refrigerator?
The founder of our organization, Max Wallack wrote “Why Did Grandma Leave Her Underwear In The Refrigerator?” It is based on his life with his great grandma Gertrude and our Executive Director (Hailey Richman’s) grandmother. The book gives an easy to understand explanation about Alzheimer’s disease which kids can relate to. It’s a wonderful resource for parents and teachers. A portion of the proceeds from the book are donated to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund https://www.amazon.com/Why-Did-Grandma.../dp/1489501673

Alzheimer's Stamp
From Lynda Everman & Kathy Siggins: It’s been a while since we’ve provided you with an update on the #AlzheimersStamp. As of the end of February, 8.7M stamps have been sold, raising $1.1M for life saving NIH funded dementia research 10 cents at a time! https://about.usps.com/.../cor.../activities/semipostals.htm Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, and weddings (in addition to the increased isolation brought about by the pandemic) present us with many opportunities to send a card or note to loved ones. Please continue to show your support and encourage those in your network to do likewise by posting your cards with the Alzheimer’s stamp. While a number of post offices have them in stock, I’ve found it easy and convenient to order at the online postal store: https://store.usps.com/.../buy-stamps/alzheimers-S_564204 Our goal for the Alzheimer’s stamp is to sell in one year what we sold in two and raise another million dollars for the NIH by the end of this year, but we still have a long way to go to meet that goal. Using the Alzheimer’s stamp honors the memory of those whom we’ve lost and signals our support for those still facing the challenges of this most difficult disease. Anything you can do to encourage those in your network to purchase and use it will be deeply appreciated. Thank you. P.S. The image for this lovely Forget-Me-Not notecard was painted by the late Lester E. Potts, Jr. who learned to paint in the throes of dementia. Please visit https://www.lesterslegacy.com/about to learn more about Lester and his artwork.

How To Help Our Organization :-)
Would you like to support our organization? Do you know middle school and high school students that would like community service credit? Here is how to help! 1) Puzzle Drive: put a big box in the lobby of the school, library, bank etc with our flier attached to it. Attach a note to the box stating that the puzzles will be collected to go to nursing homes/assisted living facilities to benefit the Alzheimer's residents. 2) Do a GoFundMe to collect $$ to purchase puzzles to distribute to nursing homes. You can use our flier for the description. https://www.springbok-puzzles.com/alzheimer-s.../1849.htm 3) Ask friends and family on social media to donate their used puzzles to your home so Mia can bring them to facilities. Please let us know if you have any questions! Sincerely, Hailey Richman
