Puzzles To Remember

PUZZLES TO REMEMBER is a 501(c)3 organization that provides puzzles to nursing homes, veterans facilities, and other facilities that care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients. Dr. Max Wallack founded Puzzles To Remember in 2008, and continues to act as an advisor and mentor. Hailey Richman is the Executive Director of PuzzlesToRemember. Since 2011, Hailey has been distributing puzzles to nursing facilities around the globe. Hailey is also the founder of KidCaregivers.com, where she provides advice for children dealing with dementia in their family members. Hailey has begun an international program called PuzzleTime which involves pairing youth members with people with Alzheimer's for an hour of shared jigsaw puzzle solving. Dr. Max Wallack serves as a mentor to the KidCaregivers program.

If you have puzzles that you would like to donate, please contact us at Puzzles2Remember@gmail.com and we will find a location near you where you can bring your puzzles. We can also provide you with a donation letter so that you can claim the value of your puzzles as a tax deduction.

The book has received dozens of excellent reviews.  It is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Welsh, Norwegian, Polish, Chinese, Portuguese, and, now, Japanese.

It is our hope that it will help many children understand the behavior of their loved ones with this disease.  We also hope it will give these children some helpful coping mechanisms to improve their own lives and the lives of their family members with Alzheimer's.


Max Wallack graduated from Boston University and worked as a Research
Intern in the Molecular Psychiatry and Aging Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at Boston University School ofMedicine.  He is currently a student at Harvard Medical School.  His great grandmother, Gertrude, suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Max is the founder of  PUZZLESTOREMEMBER.  PTR is a project that provides puzzles to nursing homes and veterans institutions that care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients

Alzheimer's Patients Have Received Over 50,000 Puzzles

I founded PuzzlesToRemember in 2007 to provide jigsaw puzzles to facilities caring for Alzheimer's and dementia patients.  That first year, I was able to donate over 800 puzzles.

Since 2007, people have continued to generously donate their gently used puzzles so that they can be sent to dementia facilities where they provide some very needed quiet times of enjoyment.

Springbok Puzzles joined my project in 2008.  We have worked together to produce the Springbok PuzzlesToRemember.  These are 12 or 36 piece puzzles with very large piece size and brightly colored, memory provoking images.  They are especially beneficial to those in middle to later stages of Alzheimer's disease.  They can provide an important sense of accomplishment.  Springbok has generously donated many of these puzzles to Alzheimer's facilities and Adult Day Care Centers.





As of this Thanksgiving weekend, PuzzlesToRemember has provided over 50,000 puzzles around the world.  I am also proud to announce that I have a new Assistant Director at PuzzlesToRemember, Hailey Richman.
